Patents filed by S. Mordan and Co, also Sampson Mordan's first patent for his everpointed pencil filed with John Isaac Hawkins. The patents listed here include those for pencil holders and cases, pens and pen holders, port crayons, cigarette cases, book edge locks and match boxes, other wise known as vesta cases. There are also patents for card cases, lighters, postal scales and even a process for improving the inlaying of metals. The patents are for the most part jointly filed between individuals or between S. Mordan and Co and an employee of some sort. Those shown are but a few of the patents filed between 1822 and 1936 and represent those which are currently available online. As and when more become available they will be added below.

This is the joint patent made by Sampson Mordan and John Isaac Hawkins on 20th December 1822, where it all began. Hawkins is listed as being a civil engineer and Mordan is listed as being a portable pen maker. This pdf is larger than the rest so may take a bit longer to load.

This is a joint patent made by Sampson Mordan and William Brockedon dated 20th September 1831. Mordan is listed as being an Engineer in this patent. Brockdeon is listed only as Esq (Esquire), but he was infact a painter and an inventor. The patent relates to oblique pens.
