Sampson Mordan novelty pencils

Novelty pencils are the most sought after of all Mordan's work, many of which can command large price tags. Each pencil was designed and beautifully crafted to look anything but like a pencil. Victorians were entranced by such whimsical design and they proved very popular indeed, even then. The designs of the pencils encompass a variety of topics, like tools, weapons, animals, sporting and household objects, people and more.

The list below shows some of the different designs of Mordan novelty pencils, these are designs that I am aware of and is no doubt far from complete.
